Dr. Louiza Voniati

Speech & Language Therapy
Dr. Louiza Voniati is an Associate professor in the undergraduate Speech and Language. Therapy Program and postgraduate Speech Pathology Programs at the European University Cyprus. She was a research assistant at the Early Childhood Research Laboratory of the Department of Education of the University of Cyprus. Dr. Voniati also collaborated as a research assistant in the project ¨Genetic and Linguistic Factors in the Prognosis of Children with Delayed Onset of Expressive Language¨ funded by the Cyprus Institute of Research Promotion and housed at the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics. Furthermore, she is supervising master’s, and PhD theses and dissertations in the Special Education Program in the Department of Education Sciences at European University Cyprus.
She is also a co-director of the iCommunicate Research Center at European University Cyprus. Her research interests include language development of typically developing children and language- impaired children, language sample analysis procedures, early identification of children with communication disorders, language impairment in children with learning difficulties, the scope of practice of speech-language therapists, and speech-language therapists in multidisciplinary teams. The Bioethics Committee of Cypriot Democracy has licensed her for research programs in kindergartens, schools, and medical centers, in order to weigh assessment scales and intervention programs.
Her funding record includes leadership of and participation in national and international research projects. Dr. Voniati has presented her work in numerous seminars, workshops, and conferences on speech and language disorders, as well as published many scientific articles, and edited many books in her field of expertise. She is also an accredited and recognized reviewer in several peer-reviewed journals.
