Profile Dr. Chryssoula Thodi, Clinical Audiologist, is Professor of Audiology, Health Sciences Department Chair, codirector of the iCommunicate Research Center at European University Cyprus, scientific director of Cyprus Audiology Center, and consultant Audiologist for Audientes, Denmark.
She is the Cyprus Newborn Hearing Screening Program Consultant Audiologist, in charge of diagnostic evaluations and quality control. Dr. Thodi’s current research includes epidemiological studies with hearing detection programs for preschool children and adults, hearing screening outcome measures, and clinical trial research on interventions for people with cognitive and sensory loss. Her funding record includes leadership of and participation in national and international research projects.
Dr. Thodi’s research has been funded by the Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation and the European Union with FP7 and H2020 Programs. She initiated and spearheaded successful submission and implementation of the Speech Language Therapy and Graduate Language Speech Pathology programs at European University Cyprus, and now the e-Learning MSc in Speech Language Pathology. Dr. Thodi’s clinical expertise includes diagnostic investigation of hearing and balance disorders using behavioral and physiological measures and improving quality of life of people with hearing or vestibular loss. She has been directing occupational hearing and balance programs for Cyprus industry. She is widely recognized in the community for her contributions to hearing and balance rehabilitation with amplification and vestibular interventions.
